• The 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and China

    On June 21, 2024, the Irish Embassy in China, in collaboration with the Choi Centre Cloud House, hosted a series of events to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and China.

     

    During the ”W.B.Yeats: Lapis Lazuli“ exhibition, Her Excellency Ann Derwin, the Irish Ambassador to China and Dr. Choi graced us with their speeches, honoring the exhibition and the profound friendship marking 45 years of diplomatic ties. The event continued with an enlightening lecture on Yeats’ literature by Mr. Fu Hao from the Institute of Foreign Literature at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, adding depth to our appreciation of the poet‘s work.

     

    The invited guests included: the Irish Ambassador, the Maltese Ambassador, the Portuguese Ambassador, and cultural officials from various countries; representatives from international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization and the International Organization for Migration; leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, and the China Securities Regulatory Commission; and other Chinese and foreign partners of the Irish Embassy.
